Tranwell Production Car Autotest -
Saturday 16 July 2016

Whickham & District Motor Club is pleased to announce the first summer running of Tranwell Woods PCA. In order to secure the venue during the summer the event must take place on a Saturday, as the venue is used for a car boot sale on the Sunday. However, a big advantage of running in the summer is that we can offer camping on the Friday night at the venue, where all of the competitors, organisers and marshals can get together and have some food and drink together before the event in a relaxed, party atmosphere. More information on camping arrangements will be provided in the final instructions.

THE BIGGEST REQUIREMENT FOR RUNNING THE EVENT ON A SATURDAY IS THAT THE VENUE MUST BE RETURNED TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE BEFORE SUNDAY MORNING. WE WOULD ASK THAT ALL COMPETITORS BRING BRUSHES AND SHOVELS TO HELP SWEEP UP AFTER THE EVENT, IF EVERY COMPETITOR DOES THIS THE VENUE WILL BE CLEARED UP IN NO TIME.

Tranwell Woods is of a mixed surface and offers a variety of challenges for all competitors. After 3 successful runnings of the event we plan to continue the theme for the 4th event. The event is again open to all 2WD cars, and cars do not require an MOT or tax, since the event is a tests only event and there are no public road sections. All cars are required by regulation to have a driver and a passenger. Double entries are allowed; with either two separate crews or the driver and passenger swapping positions between runs.

We are again expecting the event to prove popular with competitors. It is possible that we may receive more entries than we are able to accept and that some competitors may be disappointed at missing out, we would like to apologise in advance if this is the case. The acceptance of entries is at the organiser’s discretion and their say is final, a reserves list will be set up where required.

Drivers can be as young as 14 providing that their passenger holds a full RTA license and has previous experience of auto testing.

We are once again able to welcome spectators to the event. There will be a designated spectator car park with a charge of £5 per car. Spectators are reminded to follow marshals instructions at all times. There is no spectator parking along the verge of the road outside of the venue at the request of the landowner and police. A burger van will be present serving food and drinks all day.

The venue can be found at the postcode NE61 3YJ and will be arrowed from Morpeth and Ponteland.

Marshals are required to assist in the running of the event. All marshals will be given a voucher to use at the Burger van for lunch.

If you wish to marshal on the event please contact the chief marshal, Ian Coulson:
